Zoe Trevithick

I was born in China and adopted and raised in San Francisco by my mom and dad, alongside my brother and dog. After attending Presidio Middle School, I came to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory for high school because of its great academics, athletics, and community. My favorite subjects so far have been AP Calculus and AP Psychology. In my free time, I like to run on my school’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams; bake cookies, cupcakes, and other sweets; play board/card games in the Game Club I founded and currently lead; and participate in service-learning activities such as tutoring and community service in and out of school. I hope to graduate from high school with good grades and good memories.

As I naturally excel in math and science classes, I was selected to be part of the i2 (Inquiry and Innovation) Scholar Program. The i2 Program is a dynamic four-year program that focuses on STEM subjects by using project-based learning. The program inspires its students to raise important questions about complex issues and answer with creative solutions. Members of this program are chosen competitively with only 30 of 400+ students selected per grade, as they continuously display high academic achievement and standardized test scores.

Coffee Talk

Our team developed an interest in this project when we became more aware of various social issues that persist in our community, such as the Black Lives Matter Movement, fast fashion, COVID-19, and Anti-AAPI hate crimes. Our goal is to create simple, easily digestible videos to spread awareness of topics like these to a wide audience, but generally targeted towards young adults, Generation Z, etc.
