After immersing myself in two different but related projects for my first two years of i2, I want to build on what I’ve learned and incorporate quantitative data. Redefining Organic taught me so much about the agriculture industry, and how “organic” labels really don’t mean much when it comes down to the transparency of the final supermarket product. Growing Hope furthered my understanding of Earth’s natural regulatory systems — carbon dioxide isn’t bad when it’s captured in soil. Both projects allowed me to gain experience thoroughly investigating a topic, then presenting that information concisely.
This year, especially after my summer internship involving an intensive research project (and statistical graphing in R), I hope to execute a project involving data analysis. Essentially, I’m looking forward to doing statistical research exploring an environmental topic relating to climate change.
