Students

Students in the i2 program are expected to consistently maintain high levels of academic achievement, engagement, and leadership in their classes. Equally important, we encourage scholars to get very involved with their communities – the SHC community and communities outside of school – and demonstrate the high levels of participation, involvement, and contribution we see in the classroom. Finally, an i2 scholar should embody an intrinsic curiosity about the world, the ability to imagine a more just world, and a service ethos to help construct that world

The majority of i2 scholars are invited to join the program when they enter as 9th graders based on their level of academic achievement, recommendations from teachers, and indications that they would be a strong fit with the program. Once at SHC, students are invited to join i2 through their own initiative, the recommendation of their counselor or a teacher, or having joined the i2 Academic Exploration and done outstanding work on their Passion Project.
