A key part of the i2 experience is the annual i2 Project, a yearlong exploration of an important problem or challenge informed by each student’s interests and abilities. I2 scholars follow a process inspired by design thinking and lean innovation principles to develop thoughtful, often novel approaches to addressing these problems. As you can see below, the range of projects is vast. Students are encouraged to pursue projects in areas of interest that may reflect a clear passion or a more recent involvement. You’ll see projects in which the students – either individually or part of a team – design and build something, launch a new program, develop a product intended for sale, or create a Web site to raise awareness of an issue they have explored in depth. Some students start fresh with a new project every year, while others choose to continue their work, building on the project they did the prior year.
