Baxter Bourque

Ah yes, writing about myself. Always a pleasure. In summary: I’m just a guy who gets excited about things. Those things can be intrinsically rewarding, like finally figuring out a tough math problem, or winning a grapple. Most of them aren’t. Most of what I’m excited by comes from the path I take to get the rewards. It’s the anticipation that exists between and without the hits of dopamine: the countless failures it took to reach a goal. I’m not a perfectionist. I’m an improvement-ist. That’s why getting excited about things (and I mean “things” in the broadest sense of the term) is so fundamentally important: it lets me focus on the path itself rather than my position on it.
