Hello, my name is Brendon yang, and I am a Freshman at Sacred Heart Cathedral. I was born in San Francisco in July 2011. For elementary and middle school, I attended West Portal Lutheran, which is located in the Sunset District. I chose to apply to Sacred Heart Cathedral because of its strong academics, vibrant community, and excellent sports programs. I am extremely excited to be part of the i2 program, and I am eager to research more about ways I can invent things that can help the future of the world.
At SHC, I am currently enrolled in Advanced Algebra 2, World History, Mandarin 3,4, English, Physics, and Introduction to Religious Studies. My favorite course is Introduction to Religious Studies because my teacher is very nice and because I can learn more about different Religions.
Outside of SHC, I play for a basketball club along with some of my fellow freshman classmates. I am planning on trying out for the SHC frosh basketball team in the winter. I usually have practices on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Even though the practices are tough and demanding, I always find a way to make them fun.
This year, my i2 project is to make the AI sensor part of a self-sorting trash can. If I can make this part of the trash can, I can also use the AI sensor for other purposes, like for safety, building, etc.
