This year’s project is geared more towards product design and creation, as I explored research and computer science in prior years and decided to branch out. After considering many other ideas, I settled on a project that would satiate my desire to build and engineer, making it truly a passion project. This idea originated when I was eating at Sugar Bowl’s mid-mountain lodge, and wished there was a way to easily compact a jacket onto my person. It works by pulling on cords that are laced through the fabric in a way that folds the jacket neatly into a waistband. I used an old jacket for the actual prototype, but could not get to the waistband; however, that would be my next step.
