Welcome to my i2 page! My name is Isaac Partin and I am a freshman. I went to Aptos Middle School and now I try to be an involved member of the SHC community. In terms of academics, I love all of my classes finding my world history as well as math class especially interesting. However, the class I love the most is my english class as I feel that it really challenges me and I can tell that I am learning something each day that I have that class. Outside of the classroom I am a part of the band program as I play both piano and guitar. I am also on the lacrosse team, a large commitment that I spend around 15 hours a week on.
Through these extracurriculars I can feel especially connected to my community and I can find other students that I share interests with. I have made many friends through band and I can tell that my musicianship is really improving. I have never really tried sports before high school and at first I felt like I didn’t want to spend the time on the lacrosse team that was required but as the season is starting to pick up I can sincerely say that I am very happy with my decision to join the team as it is its own small community that I feel is extremely close and tight-knit. For my first i2 project I have been working on a project heavily related to machine learning and self driving cars, requiring me to fit in learning the various coding skills with my other commitments and activities. I can certainly say that it has been challenging and I will admit that I definitely got a bit of a late start relative to some of my classmates.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about me and what I do here at SHC.

The reputation in my mind was that the i2 program was a more challenging path than the normal SHC experience, as the students as a part of the program often would take more challenging courses. Not to mention, the i2 […] Read more
