Cloud Chamber: April Update

As some people may have seen at the showcase, the cloud chamber didn’t work. Looking at my project, I feel that there were two main issues: the cooling of the peltiers and the size of the chamber. Of the two, the size dictates how much cooling I need, and I only had one peltier cooling. In my third iteration, I will make the chamber about 6in by 8in, leaving plenty of space to see particle trails, but not large enough to need an exponentially larger amount of cooling. Additionally, it had been recommended that I double-stack the peltiers to increase their thermal differential. This reduction in size will help condense all current aspects of this project, and I will have most, if not all of the materials on hand. I am hopeful to make a working project by the end of this year so that I can move onto another project (still undecided).
