Whoa, someone’s looking at my page…cool! Well then, I guess I should introduce myself. I’m Ryan and I am a part of SHC’s class of 2023. Throughout my time at SHC, I have continued to develop my love for STEM. My favorite subject this year is AP Chemistry where I love learning about the ways in which the smallest particles of our universe have major impacts on our world.
Outside of the classroom, I am a member of SHC’s cross country team and a sprinter for the track team. I know, it’s weird, right? A cross country runner that sprints instead of running distance for track… Anyway, some of my best memories have been made as a member of these two teams, from playing cards under the bleachers during a rainy 13-hour track meet to breaking PRs and winning races. This year, I have also been a part of the student team organizing our annual TEDx Youth@SHC and also organized and ran last summer’s Jumpstart program for incoming freshmen.
For my i2 project this year, I’m working in a group to create a website for teens that teaches them how to invest. We find this information really important for teenagers to have as they enter adulthood, but we also feel that not nearly enough of us have this information. Our project aims to change that.
Our project has been coming along pretty well. The website is built and available for all to view and our content is being added.
