My proposed project idea this year is autonomous car chains that deploy themselves when necessary. These will be mounted onto the lower control arm so the mechanism travels with the car’s suspension. This product will not only save a lot of downtime when it comes to driving in snowy conditions but it will also save many lives because many are too lazy to exit their vehicle during snowy conditions, causing hundreds of accidents yearly. This idea came to me when we were on a ski trip and I saw many people struggling to put chains on their tires and the amount of traffic they caused. In the early stage, planning and buying the correct parts will be the hardest task.
