Hello everyone! My name is Shane and I am currently a freshman at Sacred Heart Cathedral. At SHC, I hope to pursue baseball, music, and academics.
Ever since I could begin walking, I have taken up many sports, but predominantly baseball. Currently, I play middle infield and pitch for the SHC Freshman team, where I have practice everyday after school in the spring.
In addition to baseball, I play percussion in the SHC Concert Band and the drum set in SHC Jazz Band. I picked up drumming during the pandemic, and I was fortunate enough to have a teacher at home and a lot of extra time to practice. Drumming quickly became my favorite pastime, taking a particular liking towards Classic Rock, Big Band, and Swing. In tandem with at-home and school practice, I have taken a few jazz workshops at SFJAZZ, where I have the opportunity to learn from some great musicians.
In addition to baseball and drumming, I write for the school newspaper SHC Emerald and compete for the speech team.

After working on my first i2 project for some time, I have learned some interesting things about procrastination and stumbled into some challenging, but inevitable roadblocks. During my initial stages of the project, I intended to create an ambitious, large-scale app that would not only educate users on procrastination but would create a personalized reminder […] Read more
I am excited to embark on my i2 journey this fall and hopeful that this program will allow me to explore and solve problems relating to my passions. With Silicon Valley right next to us, it seems fit that SHC has a program that fosters students’ imaginations and minds to tackle […] Read more
