Hello everyone! My name is Shane and I am currently a junior at Sacred Heart Cathedral. At SHC, I’m pursuing baseball and music in addition to academics.
Currently, I’m on the JV Baseball team and am looking to make the team again this year.
I play percussion in the SHC Concert Band and SHC Jazz Band. I picked up drumming during the pandemic, and I was fortunate enough to have a teacher at home and a lot of extra time to practice. Drumming quickly became my favorite pastime, taking a particular liking towards Classic Rock, Big Band, and Bebop. In tandem with at-home and school practice, I’m a member of the SFJazz Big Band.
In addition to baseball and music, I write for the school newspaper (The Emerald) and compete for the speech team.
This year for my i2 project, I decided to tackle a very common problem: Procrastination. There is no arguing that every single person reading this profile has, at some point or another, procrastinated. However, most people don’t take the effort to change their detrimental habits or just don’t know how. My project will aim to diagnose users on their specific procrastination habits — educating them in the process — and hopefully empower them to overcome their harmful inclinations.
