Jaden Yoon

2026

Hello! My name is Jaden Yoon, and I am presently an i2 sophomore at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. Before I begin, I want to thank two people, namely, my parents. I want to thank my parents for always supporting and raising me with the morals and principles that every human needs. Love, peace, hope, kindness, intelligence, and integrity, were all learned from the two people who are most valuable to me.

Some of my favorite hobbies include soccer, debate, and chess. Following these passions, I have enrolled in the Debate Club and the Chess Club and I play for the 2007 Glens first team. Out of all of my favorite activities and things to do, soccer triumphs overall. At home, you will often find me juggling a soccer ball or dribbling around the house. I hope to play for SHC, if I can somehow get around the restrictions that the MLS Next League has set in place. At school, my favorite subjects are math and science, and I am taking Advanced Precalculus and Honors Chemistry, respectively.

One word that my friends and family would describe me as is competitive. In sports, school, and all my outside activities, I strive to achieve the excellence that will set me apart from everyone else. For me, this means not doing just what you are told to do. It means doing more, going the extra mile, and pushing yourself to the limits of your potential. This was one of the values instilled in me from a very early age so that I could excel in what I participated in. Another word that is important to me is service. I strongly resonate with the SHC motto, which says, “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve. I believe in giving back to the community because it not only helps others thrive, it helps familiarize yourself with the community and grow as a person. In fact, last year I won the Gold Joe Biden Award for community service, clocking in 100+ hours of service to the people. The experience truly enriched me, teaching me leadership skills and confidence which would be essential in my life.

In the end, I joined the i2 because I wanted to learn more about the world around me, and follow my passions using the freedom that the i2 project provides. I hope to not only become smarter, but also learn to create something independently, over a long period of time. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me!

Shoota AI | My 2021-2022 Project

11/12/2023 Last year, I designed an artificial intelligence system that could track and record the location of players on a soccer pitch. My goal was to help soccer players improve their gameplay with relevant and useful statistics that are not available to the majority of athletes. My idea formed as a result of personal experience. Shoota AI

This project will use machine learning to analyze soccer games and provide relevant statistics to be used by coaches and players. One of the biggest tools that pro and amateur soccer players use is video film. With video film, players can replay their best moments and learn from their worst, enhancing their in-game intelligence in a fun and easy way.
